The Calgary Flames lost to the Arizona Coyotes by a 2-0 score on Thursday night. Here are selected reactions from players and coaches following the game.

The losing skid continues

The Flames’ ugly march through March continued with another loss. They played alright, but just couldn’t quite turn zone time into high danger scoring chances.
“We’re playing well in our own zone, playing well defensively,” said Flames head coach Bill Peters. “We’re having a hard time getting it to go, and some of the execution could be a little bit better. But I think once we get one or two it’ll start to come again.”

Why challenge the second goal? Why not?

Peters laid out the reasoning for challenging the second Arizona goal – with Noah Hanifin toppling onto Mike Smith – why not?
“Roll of the dice on our behalf,” said Peters. “It was our guy that was in there. Thought it was worth a try, but we weren’t surprised on the outcome.”
He’s got a point. There’s really no disincentive to rolling the dice, so to speak.
