The Calgary Flames have chased a lot in games this season, so it was a nice change of pace to see them basically lead the Ottawa Senators bell-to-bell on Saturday afternoon. They beat the Senators 6-3.
Here are some selected quotes from the post-game media addresses.

Juuso Valimaki

Valimaki scored his first goal of the season, which was his first in the NHL since October 2018. His goal opened the scoring for the club, marking the ninth time in 22 outings they’d scored the first goal. (They’re 6-1-2 when they do that.) Valimaki noted their good start needs to be the norm.
You know what, honestly, that’s how we’ve got to start every game. We talked about it a lot and it’s kind of stayed in the talk stage, we haven’t been able to really do it. So to be able to do it, it’s probably going to give us confidence that we know we can do it and that’s the way we’ve got to play. We gotta carry it on into next game again.

Andrew Mangiapane

Mangiapane had two points on Saturday. He led the team in goals in February with eight and was part o a four-way points tie with Matthew Tkachuk, Johnny Gaudreau and Elias Lindholm. After the victory, Mangiapane shared that he thinks the team needs to keep building on the positives in their games.
We took some positives from last game, obviously it wasn’t our best, but I think this game, we’re building, we’re trending in the right direction. We’re going to have to keep building on it. It’s not just going to all just change in one game or anything like that. It’s a build, I think. Every time you get out there, you’re building. You’re building on your last shift, you’re building on your last game. That’s how we’ve got to look at it. It takes everyone to get the job done.
