The Calgary Flames will be looking to close out a four-game homestand with a win on Wednesday night when they host the Dallas Stars as -145 favourites on the NHL odds at sportsbooks monitored by OddsShark.com.
Calgary is coming off a disappointing 3-2 loss to the visiting St. Louis Blues on Saturday, which put the brakes on a brief two-game win streak and also marked the team’s first loss in four home dates ahead of Wednesday night’s game at Scotiabank Saddledome.

Stars at Flames | OddsShark Matchup Report

The Flames have regularly struggled in recent dates with opponents from the Central Division, with the defeat at the hands of the Stanley Cup champion Blues as -155 home chalk marking their 10th loss in 13 such matchups since the beginning of March, according to the OddsShark NHL Database.
That trend extends to recent clashes with Dallas, which has topped Calgary in eight of 11 meetings since 2015. However, Calgary came out on top in the last tilt involving these two clubs, escaping with a 3-2 victory as a -105 wager in an October 10 matchup at American Airlines Center.
And overall, the Flames have played steady hockey over the past three weeks. The club has surrendered just 2.63 goals per game over their past eight outings, and shown glimpses of their offensive potential of late, scoring four or more goals in three of their past six outings.
With wins in four of six outings, the Flames have also made steady gains in the Pacific Division standings, where they remain in a dogfight with the resurgent Arizona Coyotes for second place. But with the Flames still lagging behind the division-leading Edmonton Oilers, they also remain off the pace on the odds to win the Pacific Division at +450 at online sports betting sites.
The Stars visit Calgary as +125 underdogs after opening a four-game swing through Western Canada with a 3-2 loss in Winnipeg as a +100 wager on Sunday. The defeat snapped a four-game win streak, but Dallas still remains on an impressive run that has seen them claim victory in seven of nine outings, and earn at least a point in eight of those contests.
However, the Stars still have work to do to overcome their recent road woes. The club has fallen to defeat in eight of 11 away games, but has surrendered just four total goals during a current 2-0-1 run on the road.
