The 2024 Stanley Cup Final is now set, as the Edmonton Oilers are slated to face the Florida Panthers starting on Saturday night in Florida.
The Flames had three conditional picks that hinged on playoff results. All three failed to convert.
  • If Vegas advanced to the second round, the Flames would receive a 2025 second-round pick instead of a 2024 third-round pick from the Noah Hanifin trade (This didn’t happen, as Dallas eliminated Vegas in the first round.)
  • If Vancouver advanced to the third round, the Flames would receive a 2024 third-round pick instead of a 2024 fourth-round pick from the Elias Lindholm trade. (This didn’t happen, as Edmonton eliminated Vancouver in the second round.)
  • If Dallas advanced to the Stanley Cup Final, the Flames would receive a 2026 third-round pick from the Chris Tanev trade. (This didn’t happen, as Edmonton eliminated Dallas in the third round.)
Yes, the Oilers prevented the Flames from having a conditional pick convert twice in consecutive playoff rounds.
