3 years agoWelcome back to another edition of Throwback Thursday!
This week in 1982 (Nov. 20), Calgary Flames defenceman Al MacInnis scored his first NHL goal.
Drafted in the 1st round of the 1981 draft, MacInnis, then 19, had been called up to the Flames for a 14 game stint in the 1982-83 season.
His first goal came in his sixth game with the Flames in what would be a 4-4 tie with the Hartford Whalers. MacInnis’ goal was the third in a flurry that Calgary scored in the first period.
With Steve Christoff and Paul Reinhart already on the board, MacInnis found the back of the net at the 13:25 mark of the first.
It was the first of 340 MacInnis would score in his career, but it was the only time he found the net in that 14 game stint.
