The number one thing we’ve learnt from the last three games is that the Calgary Flames have been vastly underperforming expectations set from the first 6 games of the year – meanwhile the Devils are the NHLs biggest surging team.
Look at this absolute wagon of a team right now. I don’t care who is in net stopping a team that spends the entire game in the offensive zone is a challenge. Jack Hughes is a legitimate star, Jesper Bratt is finally becoming a household name after being well known in analytical circles for two years, and Nico Hischier is living up to his draft pedigree. The Devils are young and only getting better – with their speed they should walk all over Calgary’s stone footed veterans.
Primary Bet – Jack Hughes to get 1+ points (-167)
He’s their number 1C, driving all of this offence right now. Jesper Bratt (-175) is another option for this if you feel inclined. Either way both should end up on the boxscore in some fashion barring a complete 180 from the Flames in terms of how they are defending. Turning the puck over against these guys will not go well
Secondary Bet – Total shots on goal over 65.5 (+105)
If Chris Tanev is still out this really is a smart option. Calgary picked things up at the end of the game in Nashville by pouring more shot volume on from all directions – the Devils just shoot from everywhere and swarm the puck with intensity every shift. Bet this, maybe bet the over on goals too if you’re looking for a parlay.
Tertiary Bet – Nazem Kadri to get 1+ assists (+100)
The assist props are all holding really good odds right now – If you don’t like Kadri pretty much every player listed has positive odds. Kadri is going back to playing with the buzzsaw boys in Mangiapane and Dubé. He’s been the pulse of the Calgary Flames this season if there is any hope for them to halt the Devils it will start with him.
As usual, bet safe and enjoy the game!
