The Ottawa Senators are fresh off a trade deadline that saw them see a significant upgrade in Jacob Chychrun. Not too long ago the Senators were on a five game win streak and the fans back home have started chanting they want the playoffs. They have a really well balanced top six and can score goals easily if the game becomes a track meet. Calgary is usually composed well defensively but have the ability to go off for goals at times too. It should be an entertaining match-up.
Primary Bet – Calgary Flames to win & Over 5.5 goals (+125)
A $1 bet pays out $2.25. I think the Flames have the resolve to get a win. The Backlund line is due to go off and the Senators bottom six could be a susceptible target. There has been lots of low scoring Flames games lately, but I think this one will feature a fair few goals.
Secondary Bet – Jacob Markstrom over 25.5 saves (+120)
A $1 bet pays out $2.20. I really like this line. Calgary is great defensively but the Senators attack is no slouch either. An influx in Senators power plays would aid this significantly, and with two physical teams there is no reason to think there won’t be a decent amount either way.
Tertiary Bet – Tim Stützle to get 1+ assists (+110)
A $1 bet pays out $2.10. He’s already developed into the primary piece in the Senators offence and he’s only getting better. If the Senators need sparked in any way offensively Stützle has been their guy all year long. Throw in how much Chychrun can help him boost his offensive totals and I really like this line.
