The Flames are fighting for their playoff lives, sitting six back of the Winnipeg Jets for the final spot with nine games to go. They’re a possession beast that just can’t score enough goals. They’re facing the Sharks, whose playoff lives are over and now are preparing for the future – a future they hope includes Connor Bedard.
Primary Bet
Calgary Flames Total Goals Over 4.5 (+137). A $1 bet pays out $2.37. The Flames have scored 12 goals combined in two games against the Sharks, and it’s not like the Sharks have radically improved of late in terms of their defensive play or their goaltending.
Secondary Bet
MacKenzie Weegar Anytime Goalscorer (+450). A $1 bet pays out $5.50. Weegar’s been playing some excellent hockey of late, and for whatever reason he’s this much of an underdog to score. He plays enough in enough high-leverage situations that this could be tremendous value.
Tertiary Bet
Will there be overtime? Yes (+325). A $1 bet pays out $4.25. Is this a slam-dunk? Nope. But these are two teams that have combined for 41 overtime games between them and are tied for the league lead in overtime losses. It could be a decent roll of the dice.
