I figured I may get some Vancouver fans in here so I wanted to show them how bad they’ve been defensively and how terrible their goaltending has been. Very nice of me, I know. Good news for them is Calgary can’t score more than 1 goal a game of late. They are usually a feast or famine team going by the last month – either 1 or less or 3+. They are 9-1-1 when they get to at least 4 goals in a game, and 14-2-1 when they get to at least 3 goals. The problem there is they’ve only scored 3 or more in 17/29 games so far.
Primary Bet – Calgary Flames to win moneyline (-182)
Just simple and easy. A normal win not banking on any offensive or defensive collapse, or anybody scoring goals or getting points. Just the most probable outcome, Flames win = you win.
Secondary Bet – Bo Horvat to get 1+ points (-143)
Two things 1) Horvat is on a tear so you want to ride the hot hand that gets valuable 5v5 and PP minutes. 2) The more he scores the more likely he’s going to have to leave Vancouver this year and any division rival losing a player that good is a benefit to Calgary. Some advice from someone with experience in cheering for teams only to see good players walk for nothing – trade him and at least get something while you can.
Tertiary Bet – Tyler Toffoli anytime goal scorer (+175)
Toffoli has scored more against Vancouver than any other opponent he’s faced. 21 career goals in 41 career games, behind that are 15 in 39 against Calgary and 13 in 40 against Edmonton. He’s sure spent some time in the Pacific division (LAK, VAN, CGY). This is a combination of good vibes, good history, and Vancouver letting in all their goals from the RW’s side of the ice.
Remember bet safe and have fun!
