The St. Louis Blues are in town to visit the Calgary Flames on Hockey Night in Canada. The head coach of the Blues is Craig Berube, a veteran of 1,054 National Hockey League games as a player. 234 of those games were spent with the Flames.
Berube was asked to reflect on his Flames tenure after Saturday&#8217;s morning skate.

<blockquote>I was here a couple different times. it&#8217;s a great spot here in Calgary, great hockey town. You know it was a lot of fun. I enjoyed it here, both times. One was early on in my career, fairly early on so it was different that time than when I came back. I was pretty much done was a player, but got a couple more years out of it. the first time we had a good team here and stuff. it was fun to play with Al MacInnis, Gary Roberts, Nieuwendyk, Fleury&#8230; Mike Vernon was our goalie. That was a good team. I was a pretty young guy and just playing with some of those good players and veterans was pretty special.</blockquote>
Berube played with the Flames from 1991-93 and 2001-03. His first tenure began via his involvement in the infamous 10-player trade with Toronto for Doug Gilmour – he was one of the most useful players the Flames received in that swap, which says volumes. His second stint began via free agency. One of the media members asked about Berube&#8217;s second stint and the Blues coach uncorked a pretty funny joke.
&#8220;Second time i probably shouldn&#8217;t have been in the league. I was good in the locker room, I just wouldn&#8217;t stay in there.&#8221;
