Good news, friends!
The Calgary Flames have officially activated blueliner Chris Tanev from the injury reserve list, as first reported by Sportsnet 960 The Fan’s Pat Steinberg.
#Flames have activated Chris Tanev off IR, per the NHL’s media website. He’s set to return to the lineup tonight in New York after missing two games before the break.

The Flames are now carrying 23 players on their active roster: two goaltenders, eight defencemen and 13 forwards. Because they were carrying 22 players prior to activating Tanev, they didn’t need to make any other roster moves to open a roster spot: Tanev merely took the one remaining free spot.
Tanev was injured early in Calgary’s 4-3 overtime victory over Columbus on Jan. 23 and was absent from the lineup in the Flames’ games against Chicago and Seattle prior to the All-Star Break. Tanev has missed 10 of the Flames’ 50 games this season due to injury. He has one goal and eight points in 40 games played this season.
