The Calgary Flames (15-11-5, 35 points) have an an interesting homestand so far. They got walloped by Tampa Bay on Thursday, and followed that up with a shutout win over Florida on Saturday. Now, they host the Boston Bruins (16-13-3, 35 points), a team having a similarly up and down season (but is facing much steeper expectations).
Tonight’s broadcast begins at 7 p.m. MT on Sportsnet West, One and Sportsnet 960 The Fan.

We’re projecting Dustin Wolf to start in net coming off his 32-save shutout over Florida on Saturday, backed up by Dan Vladar. The projected extras are Daniil Miromanov and Tyson Barrie, with Andrei Kuzmenko remaining out day-to-day with an injury.
Y’know who were pretty good against Florida? The kids. Jakob Pelletier got top nine minutes for the first time this season and, to be blunt, looked like what the Flames probably imagined he could be when they drafted him in 2019. Matt Coronato was strong on the forecheck and set up Blake Coleman’s goal. Connor Zary had a quieter game than he usually does, but he was still pretty good. Between those three first-rounders and Wolf’s outing, it was a good evening for folks with an eye towards the club’s future.
The Flames are 3-2-1 so far in December. Their leading scorer this month? Jonathan Huberdeau, with seven points. If Huberdeau and Kadri remain on their games offensively, the Flames could keep hanging around the playoff picture.
The Bruins

Brad Marchand – Elias Lindholm – Justin Brazeau
Trent Frederic – Charlie Coyle – Mark Kastelic
Cole Koepke – John Beecher – Marc McLaughlin

We’re projecting Jeremy Swayman to start in net, backed up by Joonas Korpisalo. The projected extras are Oliver Wahlstrom, Tyler Johnson and Parker Wotherspoon.
The Bruins are in a playoff spot, entering Tuesday’s action in third place in the Atlantic Division. They’re 5-2-0 in December, seeming to finally find their footing after a pretty up and down first couple of months to start the season. This is the fourth game of a five game road trip so far; they’ve lost two of their first three games before beating Vancouver on Saturday night.
David Pastrnak has 10 points in December, leading the Bruins.
Unavailable players
The Flames are without Anthony Mantha, Justin Kirkland and Andrei Kuzmenko.
The Bruins are without Hampus Lindholm.
