Will Devin Cooley get 4 straight starts, has Drv8n Cooley ever had 4 straight starts professionally. Not a question but a statement Heather Liscano was fantastic hope to hear more of her eh!

Monday Mailbag: The Flames are going streaking

Pals, a week ago, the Calgary Flames had played some good hockey but hadn’t really put together a run of good games yet. Well, they’ve put together a good run of games, winning three games in a row against some pretty decent opponents in Carolina, Minnesota and Detroit.
As we prepare for a busy week, one in which the Flames host Toronto on Monday, visit Edmonton on Wednesday, host Seattle on Friday and visit Colorado on Saturday, let’s dive into the mailbag!
In the National Hockey League, Cooley has never started four games in a row. Heck, Saturday’s game marked just the second time in his career that he’s started three in a row – the last time was Nov. 28, Nov. 30 and Dec. 2, last season. But he started eight games in a row with the Wranglers in 2024-25. When Cooley gets rolling, it seems best to let him cook in net for awhile.
Yan Kuznetsov has been quiet but in a good way. Would you explain what you’ve seen with his play and how it provides stability that his partner now is Zayne?
I’m a big fan of Yan Kuznetsov’s overall game. He’s a really predictable defensive player in a good way; his consistency often allows his defensive partner to freelance a bit more and try stuff offensively because that partner knows that Kuznetsov can handle the defensive responsibilities while they jump into the play more often. Hopefully he can Zayne Parekh can get a run of games together to keep building their chemistry.
For no reason at all, who is projected to go 16th overall?
Looking at Steven Ellis’ current rankings, the players in the 10th-to-16th range are Swedish centre Milan Sundstrom (10th), Russian forward Andrei Pustovoi (11th), Notre Dame forward Sammy Nelson (12th), Brandon Wheat Kings centre Jaxon Jacobson (13th), Guelph Storm forward Jaakko Wycisk (14th), Medicine Hat Tigers forward Noah Davidson (15th) and Edmonton Oil Kings forward Kayden Stroeder (16th).
That being said, the Toronto Maple Leafs won 32 games last season and won the lottery to get first overall.
Is it too early to ask about Zayne Parekh’s next contract?
Who do you think is doing better so far ZP or SN?
If I’m Zayne Parekh’s representation, I point to Simon Nemec’s new contract and go “I would like that, please.” Parekh will be eligible to sign a contract extension as of July 1, 2027, and if his performance under his entry-level deal is similar to Nemec’s, he’s got a good case for arguing he should be compensated similarly.
Mailbag: If you were to redo the summer top 20 flames prospects who would be the biggest mover? This guy would be on my list, for doing a classic rat moves like the one last night at the end of the game:
A few prospects are making cases to move up the rankings, including Theo Stockselius (10th), Chase Harrington (12th), Tyson Gross (13th), Jonathan Castagna (14th) and Alan Shaikhlislamov (16th). I’ll argue that Harrington and Castagna have done the most to elevate their standing with the organization since the beginning of the season.
