Friends, quite a few Calgary Flames prospects had impressive months of December. Earlier this week, Calgary Wranglers goalie Dustin Wolf was named the AHL’s top goalie for December. Now, he’s joined by prospect Parker Bell, whose great month with the Western Hockey League’s Tri-City Americans has earned him monthly accolades.
The 19-year-old Bell was a beast in December, posting 21 points over December, capping things off with a five point performance on New Year’s Eve. His 21 points in December doubled his season-to-date point production.
A fifth-round selection by the Flames in the 2022 NHL Draft, the scouting line on Bell was he was big (6’4″ and 200 pounds) but pretty raw. The Flames felt that if they could get their developmental staff to work with him and help him develop physically in a more polished manner, he could be excellent.
It’s still very early in that process, but the returns are promising thus far.
