The Calgary Flames season is currently paused, but before too long NHL games will be back. In the meantime, the vast majority of the club’s young prospects remain active throughout the hockey world.
Let’s conduct our weekly check-in!

This and that:

  • D Johannes Kinnvall and G Tyler Parsons are on the Flames’ season-opening injury reserve after suffering injuries.
  • We’re not including Juuso Välimäki’s AHL run in here because (a) it’s been six games and (b) he’s played enough NHL games that we no longer consider him a prospect.
  • The QMJHL has paused for a few weeks due to COVID-19 surges, so there will be no games until January 7.

Ciona hasn’t moved the needle a ton this season offensively, but he’s been fairly consistent in all three zones for the Thunderbirds. He’s also been quite consistent offensively, good for a point every two games almost like clockwork.

Jordan returned from what was apparently a lower-body injury last week – for whatever reason, the WHL’s weekly injury report called it an illness… Anyhow, he’s cementing himself as an all-situations defender with the Warriors, with reports from the rink that he was tremendously unlucky to only get the single assist this week.
