The Calgary Flames have made their fifth addition at the 2023 NHL Draft. With their sixth-round pick, 176th overall, the Flames have selected Russian goaltender Yegor Yegorov from MHK Dynamo Moskva in the MHL.
Yegorov was unranked by FC Hockey and the NHL’s Central Scouting Service.

An August 2005 birthday, Yegorov is one of the youngest players in this year’s draft class. He’s listed at 6’3″ and 185 pounds, and hails from Moskva, Russia. (He’s two weeks away from being eligible for the 2024 class.) He was the secondary goalie for MHK Dynamo Moskva last season, posting a .915 save percentage in 15 appearances along with a 9-4-0 record with two shutouts.
He’s young. He’s Russian. That’s what we think we know. He’s under contract through the 2024-25 season.
This is the third consecutive Russian goaltender selected by the Flames: they previously selected Arsenii Sergeev in the seventh round in 2021 and Daniil Chechelev in the fourth round in 2020.
