After both starting their pre-season schedules with identical 4-2 losses to the same opponent over the weekend, the Calgary Flames and Vancouver Canucks are meeting in the second of four exhibition games for each club. It’s also the final exhibition National Hockey League game in the long history of the Scotiabank Saddledome!

The game starts just after 7 p.m. MT, televised on Sportsnet One and over the airwaves on QR Calgary! (They have a 90-minute pre-game show on QR Calgary starting at 5:30 p.m. MT!)

The Flames lost to the Seattle Kraken by a 4-2 score on Sunday evening, with Aydar Suniev scoring both Flames goals.

Here are projected lines for this evening via QR Calgary’s Pat Steinberg:

Matvei Gridin – Morgan Frost – Matt Coronato
Sam Honzek – Mikael Backlund – Joel Farabee
Connor Zary – Ryan Strome – Yegor Sharangovich
Maxim Tsyplakov – Martin Pospisil – Adam Klapka

Kevin Bahl – Simon Nemec
Jake Middleton – Zayne Parekh
Yan Kuznetsov – Zach Whitecloud

Dustin Wolf is projected to start and probably play the full 60 minutes. He’ll be backed up by Russian rookie Kirill Zarubin.

The “veterans” for the Flames’ group are essentially everybody except for Zarubin. (The 100-gamers are everybody except Gridin, Honzek, Parekh, Kuznetsov and Zarubin.) This is effectively the lineup for Oct. 1. It’s the season pre-season outing for Gridin, Honzek, Parekh and Kuznetsov.

The Canucks lost to Seattle 4-2 on Saturday.
