The Calgary Wranglers play their third game of the week on the road with a stop in Bakersfield to face the Condors. They’re facing a much fresher team as the Condors haven’t played since their series in Calgary last weekend. Notes and expectations

In their last series in Calgary, the Wranglers and Condors split and the Condors were the ones to deal them their first loss of the season with a 5-4 final score on Sun., Oct. 11. Both games were one goal decisions and in the loss, there are probably a few goals Zarubin would’ve liked back. Based on the fact that Sergeev has started both games this week so far and the latest was just last night, it appears Zarubin will get another chance against a team that had his number for a few goals. The Condors are going to be buzzing too, as this is their home opener and their games are usually pretty well attended.
The Wranglers are going to want to shut down Bakersfield’s top scorer, Quinn Hutson, in this series. Hutson had three goals in the last series against Calgary and has yet to go a game this season without putting up a goal. Hutson was targeting low glove side on the Wranglers and surely this will be a spot both sides will be watching for this game.
On the Wranglers side, their top player to watch is Ben Jones. Jones is off to a scorching hot start to the year with eight points in six games and an active four game goal streak going into this matchup in Bakersfield. He’s scored six goals in the last four games and had a two goal night in San Jose on Friday. Jones also scored three goals in the last two games the Wranglers played against the Condors.
We’ll see which team takes the lead in the season series and for bragging rights as a rival team, with their parent clubs being the Flames and Oilers. This game has a start time of 8:10 p.m. MT and streaming will be available on AHLtv on Flo Hockey and radio coverage on Wranglers Radio via their website and social media platforms. Daily Faceoff Calgary contributors, Ryan Pike and I will have updates on X (formerly Twitter).
