Notes and expectations

There’s a lot going well for the Wranglers right now. They’re scoring lots of goals, their cusp players are performing highly and their goaltending has been excellent. In the last week alone, both Rory Kerins and Walker Duehr had hat trick games. Speaking of Rory Kerins, he was awarded the AHL Player of the Week on Monday for his five goal week last week. Kerins still leads the league in goals and is tied for first in points with his teammates Jakob Pelletier and Walker Duehr.
Jakob Pelletier hasn’t been the main storyline of the season so far because he’s not scoring multiple goals a game. However, he’s been setting up many of these goals. He’s had points in every game so far with the exception of their last meeting with the Henderson Silver Knights. He is still looking for his first goal of the year but eight assists so far is not too shabby at all.
With Calgary’s strong start, they’ve secured high spots in the standings going into the third week. Bakersfield has a slightly higher winning percentage than Calgary with a 2-0-1 record as they have yet to lose a game in regulation. With Calgary’s 4-1-0-0 record, they sit at the second spot in the league standings just under the Toronto Marlies, who have a perfect record so far.
Will Calgary deal Bakersfield’s first regulation loss or will Bakersfield break up Calgary’s success? We’ll find out when This game is set to start at 7:30 p.m. MT on Tuesday. This matchup can be streamed on Flo Hockey for a monthly or annual fee. FlamesNation contributors such as myself, will also have game updates on X (formerly Twitter).
