The Calgary Wranglers have one game left to go until the AHL All-Star break and one game left in their seven-game road trip. They’re coming off two losses to the Coachella Valley Firebirds and would like to wrap up this trip with a win. They head to Ontario, CA to face the Reign on Saturday evening before a handful of their players likely return to the Flames.

The Wranglers had a day break between games to relax and refocus for this Saturday night match-up. On the other hand, their opponents just played on Friday night against the Colorado Eagles. There may be some signs of fatigue on both sides of the ice. Both are coming off 5-2 losses that they’re going to want to get past quickly and bounce back from. 
The good things to come out of the last two losses were Jakob Pelletier’s and Kevin Rooney’s first goals of the season. A step in the right direction on their path back from injury recovery just three games into the year. Pelletier made the scoresheet on Jan. 31 with his first goal of the season and Kevin Rooney scored on the night after on Feb. 1. It is no secret that Pelletier’s on a faster timeline to return to the Flames so his performance is the most under the microscope.
Another player expected to return to the Flames who continues to perform well is Matt Coronato. Coronato is averaging a point per game in this brief stint back with the Wranglers and had two assists on Wednesday. He’s been skating on the top line with Jakob Pelletier so this could be an interesting glance into the near future of the Flames. 
This one-off game does not follow the typical two-game series between AHL teams. The Wranglers and Reign will face off on Saturday night with a 7:00 p.m. MT puck drop.
