The Calgary Wranglers return home after six games on the road to host the Laval Rocket. Calgary has dropped the last three games they played last week and are looking to bounce back for a little lighter of a schedule this week. Their losses did coincide with Ben Jones getting called up, but he is now back with the team to hopefully inject some more production into the lineup.

Notes and expectations
The Wranglers have managed to stay mostly healthy this season and the only player who was announced on the latest injury report was Connor Zary. Zary was tripped up in the Wranglers game against the Ontario Reign on Oct. 20 and looked uncomfortable but finished the game. He missed the last two games against the Abbotsford Canucks with a lower body injury, but his timeline for return is unknown. He did not skate with the team at practice this week.
The team did get Will Dineen back from injury for the Canucks series, though. He’s going to be one of the most excited Wranglers for this Laval series as he was a member of the Rocket the last two seasons prior to joining the Wranglers. Last year, he was able to play 35 games in Laval and played in three out of the four games against the Wranglers. This year, he’ll be on the other side of those games.
This should be a pretty competitive series and a good challenge for the Wranglers to get back to the winning ways they started the season with. The Rocket currently lead the North Division with a 7-2-0-0 record and the Wranglers have dropped to third in the Pacific Division with their 5-5-0-0 record. The Wranglers have yet to take a game out of regulation and the Rocket have had just one overtime appearance this season so far. Calgary’s going to want to be especially disciplined in this series too as the Rocket have the best power play percentage in the league at 31%.
This series starts on Thursday for a 7:00 p.m. MT start time and continues into Saturday for the Wranglers Halloween game. Saturday’s game will get started at 12:00 p.m. MT so plenty of time for trick-or-treating after the game. Both of these games are available for free on Wranglers radio on the team’s social media and website and paid options are available to catch these games in person or stream them on AHLtv on Flo Hockey. Daily Faceoff contributors Ryan Pike and I will have updates on X (formerly Twitter).
