The Calgary Wranglers are back on the road after winning two games at home against the Colorado Eagles earlier this week. They will head to Ontario, CA to play the Reign in their last series of the regular season. The Wranglers have been very successful against this team this season with a 5-0-1-0 record on the year. Their two game set will kick off on Friday night and finish up on Sunday evening.

The Wranglers have been a force to be reckoned with this season and were the first AHL team to hit 40 wins on Wednesday night. They are two points away from clinching a playoff berth and can do so as soon as Friday night if they win in any way. An overtime or shootout loss will hold off their clinching opportunity to at least the next game.
If you haven’t looked at the league stats lately, the Wranglers are still holding quite a presence in a variety of categories. Dustin Wolf has practically secured his goaltender of the year recognition once again with 33 wins on the season. That is 11 more than the next netminder behind him. He also leads the league in the save percentage category with a .927. His GAA puts him second in the league with a 2.25.
In the skater categories, Matthew Phillips sits fifth in the league in points and still leads the league in goals with 28. Jeremie Poirier has a six point lead among rookie defencemen with 38 points on the year. He also leads rookie defensemen in assists with 31. It’s not just the team as a whole that is placing them so high in the league. The individual efforts are really setting them apart from their competition. 
Players like Dryden Hunt and Kevin Rooney have looked very good in their last couple of games and while no one is on a crazy long point streak at the moment, their team contributions to scoring have helped keep them dangerous in their recent match-ups. If the Wranglers do not clinch on Friday, they won’t be too far away from doing so in the games following.
