Wranglers add three more players on minor league deals

The Calgary Wranglers announced the signing of three new players to minor league contracts on Tuesday. This news, coming just after the long weekend, gets the Wranglers that much closer to a full roster and adds more depth to their affiliation with the Rapid City Rush.

The three new additions include left shot forward Will Dineen, left shot defenceman Tyler Inamoto, and right shot defenceman Tyson Feist.

Will Dineen

25 years old, 6’2”, 201 lbs

NCAA free agent signing

Contract: AHL contract

Position: Left shot winger

Last Team: Laval Rocket/Trois Rivières Lions

Last Season’s Performance:

AHL – 35GP, 3G, 2A, 5 total points

ECHL – 5GP, 2G, 2 total points

Dineen played most of last season with the North Division leading Laval Rocket and played in three out of the four games against the Wranglers in their cross-division series. He didn’t have any points in those games but did get to see his future system in action without even realizing it. Will is the son of long-time NHL player and NHL and AHL head coach Kevin Dineen. Kevin last coached in 2024-25 with the Utica Comets.

Dineen is known to put up some killer hits like this one against the Providence Bruins in late 2025.

Tyer Inamoto

27 years old, 6’2”, 194 lbs

Drafted by the Florida Panthers 133rd overall in 2017

Contract: AHL/ECHL contract

Position: Left shot defenceman

Last Team: Bakersfield Condors/Fort Wayne Komets

Last Season’s Performance:

ECHL – 41GP, 1G, 11A, 11 total points

AHL – 9GP, 2A, 2 total points

Like Dineen, Tyler Inamoto is also a product of the NCAA. He played his whole collegiate career with the University of Wisconsin and served as an alternate captain his last two seasons. Inamoto made his professional debut with the Ontario Reign at the end of the 2021-22 season and spent the next two seasons mostly in the ECHL with the Greenville Swamp Rabbits. He has a little history with injuries and only played 16 games in the 2023-24 season.

In 2024-25, Inamoto joined the Edmonton Oilers’ organization primarily to play on their ECHL affiliate, the Fort Wayne Komets. He got eight appearances with the Bakersfield Condors that year. Last season was pretty close to the same story. He played 41 games in the ECHL and nine in the AHL. He may come in to be like a Simon Mack replacement that will yo-yo from the ECHL and AHL and be a depth option if and when call-ups and injuries happen.

Tyson Feist

25 years old, 6’3”, 207 lbs

WHL free agent signing

Contract: AHL/ECHL contract

Position: Right shot defenceman

Last Team: Indy Fuel, Bakersfield Condors, Fort Wayne Komets

Last Season’s Performance:

ECHL (combined) – 40GP, 2G, 14A, 16 total points

AHL – 13GP, 1A, 1 total point

Tyson Feist came from the WHL route, starting his junior career with the Spokane Chiefs and Regina Pats in 2018-19 before making his way to the Kelowna Rockets for two and a half seasons. Feist served as Captain of the Rockets in 2021-22 for his best WHL season with 15 goals and 24 assists in 65 games. Feist has bounced around the AHL and ECHL the last four seasons, with games with the Chicago Wolves, Syracuse Crunch, Orlando Solar Bears, Indy Fuel, Bakersfield Condors and Fort Wayne Comets. Last season, he was split between three teams, including the Fuel to start before he was traded to the Bakersfield Condors for Rem Pitlick.

Feist is another larger guy who can hold his own on the ice and won’t get pushed around much. He will likely serve a similar role to his prior seasons, bouncing back and forth between the ECHL and AHL.

With these signings, the predicted roster for the Wranglers looks pretty full for the fall. Especially on the back end. It’ll create healthy competition to crack the AHL roster at training camp and the guys listed above are among the ones on the cusp. The Flames’ AHL team has many more seasoned pros in their mid-20’s than they did last season and appears to have become a tougher and larger bodied team.
