Canada’s World Junior coach on Pelletier: ‘He does a lot of good things’

After two weeks idle due to positive COVID-19 tests and the ensuing quarantine, Hockey Canada was back in action at World Junior Selection Camp in Red Deer on Wednesday night.
Calgary’s 2020 first round pick, Connor Zary had a goal for Team White in a 6-4 win over Team Red. But Team Canada’s head coach Andre Tourigny had some high praise for Jakob Pelletier, Calgary’s 2019 first round pick, who starred for Team Red.
Zary played on a line with Dawson Mercer (New Jersey) and Philip Tomasino (Nashville). Pelletier played on a line with Dylan Holloway (Edmonton) and Alex Newhook (Colorado).
Team Canada has one more (non-televised or streamed) Red/White game on Thursday before cutting down to its final 25 player roster on Friday. The 10 World Junior clubs enter the bubble in Edmonton on Sunday. The tournament action begins on Boxing Day.
