The Calgary Flames will be selecting at ninth overall when the 2024 NHL Draft rolls around in just under eight weeks. The Flames’ first-round fate was sealed during Tuesday’s draft lottery.
Over at the FlamesNation YouTube channel, we had ourselves a bit of a watch party! Barn Burner’s Ryan Pinder and FlamesNation managing editor Ryan Pike were the ringmasters of our little circus, and we were joined by Daily Faceoff prospect guru Steven Ellis before the lottery results were announced and by Daily Faceoff’s Mike Gould and FlamesNation’s founding editor Kent Wilson to break the results down afterwards!
A good time was had by all, and we had fulsome discussions regarding a lot of possible players the Flames could select at ninth overall. And yeah, that includes Tij Iginla.
