City of Calgary names three third-party arena negotiators

The City of Calgary’s event centre committee met on Wednesday afternoon and while the meeting wasn’t particularly newsworthy, the name of the third-party arena negotiator was announced.
As it turns out, there’s three of them:
- CBRE executive vice-president John Fisher
- NAIOP Calgary strategic director Guy Huntingford
- Ayrshire Group executive chairman Phil Swift
The trio has been at work for a little while, examining the past work on the file by city administration and building a battle plan for how to proceed.
Speaking to the committee, City of Calgary general manager of planning and development Stuart Dalgelish noted that no timelines or commitments are currently in place – though a lot of work has been done on the file and they’re pleased with the progress thus far.
The event centre committee is scheduled to meet again on July 4.
