Michael Stone is now a Calgary Flame.
The move to bring in Stone is an interesting one. It comes just four days after the signing of Matt Bartowski to help sure up the defence.
Stone has played in 324 NHL games, all with the Coyotes. He has scored 24 goals and 72 assists in those games, and last season was his most productive year totaling 36 points in 75 games.
The right-shot defenceman was a product of the Calgary Hitmen, where he spent four seasons and was the team’s captain in the 2009-10 season.
This season Stone has totalled nine points in 45 games and at 5-on-5, he has been the Coyotes’ best GF% player at 46.7%, but also the team’s worst CF% player at 42.3%
For the rest of the season, Stone will make only $544 000. He is a UFA after this season.
