In advance of Calgary’s meeting with the Ottawa Senators on Thursday evening, a bit of roster news. The club has activated Derek Ryan and Jacob Markstrom from the injury reverse according to the NHL’s media portal.
Ryan suffered a broken finger on Feb. 4 and was placed on the long-term injury reserve on Feb. 6 (retroactive to that date). He was activated from the LTIR for cap purposes on Wednesday, which reset the Flames’ ability to accumulate cap space again.
Markstrom suffered an upper body injury on Feb. 20 and was placed on the “regular” injury reserve on Feb. 25. He was activated for cap purposes on Thursday. With Markstrom active again, the Flames shuffled their depth goaltenders: Artyom Zagidulin was reassigned to the AHL’s Stockton Heat, while Louis Domingue was moved from Stockton the taxi squad.
