With the 2019 NHL Draft going down tonight in Vancouver, Ryan Pike joined Yahoo! Sports to discuss what to expect from the Calgary Flames over the weekend leading into free agency.
The Flames didn’t have a pick in the first round of last year’s draft but are slated to select 26th overall on Friday night. That said, we’ve seen Treliving be active in moving his draft picks, so there’s always a chance that changes. Pike also discussed the possibility of trades involving veteran players like Michael Frolik, Travis Hamonic, and T.J. Brodie in order to free up cap room to deal with Matthew Tkachuk’s impending restricted free agency.
