In advance of their Saturday afternoon game, the Calgary Flames have made a couple roster moves. The club has activated forward Michael Frolik from the Injury Reserve List. In a corresponding move, they&#8217;ve sent Ryan Lomberg to the American Hockey League&#8217;s Stockton Heat.

Frolik has been on the shelf with a high ankle sprain since Nov. 19. He&#8217;s missed 15 games and his hockey sense and strong two-way presence has been missed in the bottom six. He skated on a regular line at practice on Friday and he&#8217;s been termed a &#8220;game-time decision&#8221; for Saturday&#8217;s game. His activation is a great sign that he&#8217;s playing.
Lomberg heads back to the farm in a move that&#8217;s mostly about hoarding cap space. The Flames have Dalton Prout as their extra defenseman and Austin Czarnik as their extra forward right now, so it&#8217;s not terribly useful to have too many players around not playing (and eating up cap space). Since he&#8217;s waiver exempt , Lomberg can be freely sent back and forth.
