Flames add Brett Ritchie on PTO, assign Justin Kirkland to Stockton

Minor roster news at training camp, folks. Confirming the worst-kept secret in town, the Calgary Flames have officially added forward Brett Ritchie on a professional try-out contact.
To make roster room, they’ve sent Justin Kirkland to Stockton’s AHL camp, expected to begin later this month.
Ritchie, 27, is the older brother of Boston forward Nick Ritchie. The right winger was a second round pick by Dallas back in 2011, and has played 268 NHL games over parts of seven seasons. Ritchie measures in at 6’4″ and 220 pounds, and presumably could bring some size to a Flames group that sometimes lacks it.
Well, he might bring it to the taxi squad, at least.
