Ladies and gentlemen, we now know when the next official outings for the Calgary Flames will be. The club announced on Tuesday their schedule for the upcoming pre-season, as well as a pair of rookie camp games.
The team will play two rookie camp games, which functionally replace the old Young Stars Classic tournament:
- Sat., Sept. 7 against the Edmonton Oilers in Red Deer
- Tues., Sept. 10 at home against the Oilers
Following those games, the veterans arrive and then play eight pre-season games:
- Mon., Sept. 16 with a pair of split squad games against the Vancouver Canucks – one in Calgary and one in Victoria
- Wed., Sept. 18 at home against the San Jose Sharks
- Fri., Sept. 20 in Edmonton
- Sun., Sept. 22 in Winnipeg to face the Jets
- Tues., Sept. 24 at home against the Jets
- Thu., Sept. 26 in San Jose
- Sat., Sept. 28 at home against the Oilers
Based on this schedule, expect the league-wide regular season schedule to begin on Wed., Oct. 2 – though that hasn’t been officially confirmed as of yet.
