Flames at Golden Knights | OddsShark Matchup Report

The Flames’ victory in Dallas put the brakes on a four-game road slide that began with a 3-1 loss to Anaheim in their final away date of last season. Overall, Calgary has struggled in contests away from Scotiabank Saddledome, posting wins in just eight of 19 games since the beginning of February, and scoring two or fewer goals in nine of those outings.
The team needed yet another big goaltending performance in Dallas, with David Rittich coming up big while turning aside 34 of 36 shots. The Flames have now been outshot in each of their first four games of the season, surrendering 35.5 shots on goal per game, while Rittich has racked up a .929 save percentage.
The timing may be right for the Flames to aim for their first-ever win in the Nevada desert, as the Golden Knights return home for Saturday’s clash riding a two-game losing streak. Vegas was unable to solve Darcy Kuemper during a 4-1 loss in Arizona as -120 road chalk at online betting sites, firing 38 shots at the Coyotes goaltender on Thursday night.
Vegas also blew an early 2-0 lead in a 4-3 loss to the visiting Boston Bruins as a -135 home favourite on Tuesday night, and has now earned wins in just three of 12 regular-season contests since March 21.
The Golden Knights have effectively shut down Calgary in four meetings in Vegas over their first two NHL campaigns, limiting the Flames to just four total goals while recording a pair of shutout wins. However, the team has also failed to generate much offence in recent dates with the Flames, scoring just 10 total goals over their past five meetings, capped by a lopsided 6-3 loss in Calgary as +125 underdogs back on March 10.
