The Calgary Flames (15-5-5, 35 points) will finish off yet another lengthy road trip on Tuesday evening when they head to the Silicon Valley for a clash with the San Jose Sharks (13-11-1, 27 points). The Flames have won two of three games on the road; can they finish this trip off on a positive note?
This game gets rolling at 8:30 p.m. MT. You can catch the action on Sportsnet One and Sportsnet 960 The Fan.

The Flames

Projected lines via Daily Faceoff:
Gaudreau – Lindholm – Tkachuk
Coleman – Backlund – Mangiapane
Lucic- Monahan – Dube
Richardson – Ruzicka – Lewis
Hanifin – Andersson
Kylington – Tanev
Zadorov – Gudbranson
Dan Vladar will likely start, backed up by Jacob Markström. The projected extras are Michael Stone and Tyler Pitlick, who’s dealing with an upper body injury and is out day-to-day. Oliver Kylington reportedly didn’t skate this morning so his status is a might unclear, but we’re guessing that he plays.

The Flames are coming off a regulation loss and will need a good bounce-back performance after losing a close game in Vegas on Sunday evening. In the four games following their other regulation losses, they’ve gone 1-1-2.
The Flames have more road wins (11) than about half of the league have wins (total).

The Sharks

Yesterday’s lines via Daily Faceoff:
Meier – Couture – Dahlen
Barabanov – Hertl – Gregor
Cogliano – Bonino – Nieto
Weatherby – Pederson – Gadjovich
Ferraro – Burns
Middleton – Karlsson
Vlasic – Meloche
It sounds like Adin Hill starts for the Sharks. James Reimer missed morning skate (Alexei Melnichuk was the second goalie), so he might not be available for tonight’s game. The projected extras are Radim Simek and Kevin Labanc.
The Sharks are looking for a bounce-back after losing 6-4 for Columbus on Sunday night. They managed to survive their lengthy COVID-19 outbreak and now appear to be more or less fully healthy. They managed to navigate the Evander Kane shenanigans as well. So now they’re focusing on hockey and trying to reel in the top few teams in the Pacific.
