Can the Calgary Flames (13-10-5, 31 points) finally win a road game? They’ve lost eight in a row dating back a month. They’ll get a chance to get out of their road slump when they head to scenic Tennessee to face the Nashville Predators (7-15-6, 20 points), currently sitting in last place in the entire National Hockey League.
Tonight’s broadcast begins at 6 p.m. MT on Sportsnet West and Sportsnet 960 The Fan.

We’re projecting Dan Vladar to start in net, backed up by Dustin Wolf. The projected extras are Joel Hanley and Tyson Barrie. Ryan Lomberg is also absent due to the impending birth of his child back in Calgary.
The Flames are 0-5-3 in their last eight road games, with the general theme being “finding ways to lose.” In Dallas they went toe-to-toe with a strong team for 40 minutes and their penalty kill had a strong game. But as Dallas found their extra gear in the third period the Flames’ defensive poise disappeared and they spiralled. If they can replicate their first 40 minutes against Nashville, we don’t hate their chances.
The Predators
Projected lines via Daily Faceoff:
Filip Forsberg – Steven Stamkos – Gustav Nyquist
Zachary L’Heureux – Fedor Svechkov – Jonathan Marchessault
Mark Jankowski – Tommy Novak – Luke Evangelista
Cole Smith – Michael McCarron – Colton Sissons

We’re projecting Juuse Saros to start in net, backed up by Justus Annunen. The Predators’ lone extra is Juuso Parssinen.
Nashville has had a rough year. Their big new signings haven’t quite clicked with the group yet, and they’ve been barraged by injuries thus far. They enter action on Tuesday tied for last place in points, and they’re behind Chicago on the wins tiebreaker. They need to turn things around, and fast, or fully commit to being not good this season.
Unavailable players
The Flames are without Anthony Mantha and Justin Kirkland.
The Predators are without Spencer Stastney, Ryan O’Reilly, Jeremy Lauzon and Alexander Carrier.
