After three wins in four outings, the Calgary Flames (18-19-4, 40 points) will try to finish their five game homestand on a winning note when they host the Seattle Kraken (18-14-7, 43 points) on Monday night! The Flames are starting their second half, and they’re going to be trying to get back to the .500 mark after back-sliding against Nashville on Saturday. Can the Flames close things out on a winning note?
Today’s broadcast begins at 7:30 p.m. MT on Sportsnet West and Sportsnet 960 The Fan.

Via Sportsnet’s Pat Steinberg, we’re expecting Dustin Wolf to start, backed up by Devin Cooley. The projected extras are Hunter Brzustewicz and William Stromgren. John Beecher is unavailable for Monday’s game as he serves his suspension – he may also be injured. Justin Kirkland rotates back into his spot on the fourth line.
Update: Owen Say is backing up, Devin Cooley is sick.
The Flames lost on Saturday, and generally didn’t really look like the team we’ve seen for the last while. It happens! Sometimes teams have off nights. The Flames are still 6-4-0 over the past 10 games. They’re back in the periphery of the playoff picture after going on a run through November and December. If they’re serious about continuing to climb, they need to find ways to grab points and maintain consistency.
The Kraken

We’re projecting Joey Daccord to start in net, backed up by Philipp Grubauer. Their projected extra skaters are Tye Kartye and Josh Mahura.
Update: Philipp Grubauer starts for Seattle.
After a bit of a so-so start to the season, the Kraken have really found their game of late. They’ve won six of their past seven games, and their last regulation loss was against the Flames on Dec. 18. They’ve found a way to stick around in games and they’ve gotten key goals at key times to find ways to win.
They’re a tough out these days for whoever they face.
Unavailable players
The Flames are without Martin Pospisil, Zayne Parekh, Sam Honzek, Jake Bean and John Beecher.
The Kraken are without Jaden Schwartz, Matt Murray and Brandon Montour.
