Flames Game Day 7: Looking for a bounce-back against Winnipeg (7:30pm MT, SN Flames)

The Calgary Flames (1-5-0, 2 points) return home from a tough road trip on Monday and sit in 32nd place in the National Hockey League by points percentage. They’ll try to right the ship on home ice, but they’ll face a steep test in the form of the Winnipeg Jets (4-1-0, 8 points), the reigning Presidents’ Trophy winners and a pretty impressive hockey team.
Can the Flames get back in the win column? Or will the Jets maintain their strong start to the season?
Today’s broadcast begins at 7:30 p.m. MT on Sportsnet Flames and Sportsnet 960 The Fan.

Dustin Wolf is projected to start in net, backed up by Devin Cooley. The projected extras for this evening are Brayden Pachal, Daniil Miromanov and Yegor Sharangovich.
So, the Flames are 1-5-0. They begin Monday’s action dead-last in the NHL in points percentage. As they say: nowhere to go but up, right? The Flames have yet to play a rock-solid 60 minutes of hockey thus far and their win came because the Edmonton Oilers imploded mid-game. Simply put: the Flames haven’t been flat-out awful, but they definitely need to be a lot better.
The Jets
Projected lines via Daily Faceoff:
Kyle Connor – Mark Scheifele – Gabriel Vilardi
Nino Niederreiter – Jonathan Toews – Gustav Nyquist
Alex Iafallo – Vladislav Namestnikov – Brad Lambert
Cole Koepke – Morgan Barron – Tanner Pearson

We’re projecting Connor Hellebuyck in net, backed up by Eric Comrie. The projected extras are Parker Ford, Nikita Chibrikov and Colin Miller.
The Jets are off to a decent start this season, even while they’re missing some good parts of their team. But they’ve been good enough to win, and they continue to have a nice mix of big stars and reliable depth throughout their lineup. The Jets are a tough night at the office for anybody, let alone an opponent that’s still trying to get their footing this season.
