A pair of teams that played on Saturday night and then travelled will clash at the Saddledome in the final weekend game of the 2025-26 season! The Calgary Flames (32-38-9, 73 points) host the Utah Mammoth (42-31-6, 90 points), with Utah having punched their ticket to the Stanley Cup playoffs and the Flames having… well, not. It’s the first game of a three game season-ending homestand for the Flames.
Today’s broadcast begins at 7 p.m. MT on Sportsnet’s national feed and Sportsnet 960 The Fan.

The Flames

Projected lines via Daily Faceoff:
Yegor Sharangovich – Mikael Backlund – Matt Coronato
Matvei Gridin – Morgan Frost – Joel Farabee
Blake Coleman – Ryan Strome – Aydar Suniev
Connor Zary – Tyson Gross – Martin Pospisil
Olli Maatta – Hunter Brzustewicz
Yan Kuznetsov – Zayne Parekh
Abram Wiebe – Zach Whitecloud
It’s a back-to-back for the Flames, so there’s no morning skate and we’re making some guesses.
We’re projecting Dustin Wolf to start in net, backed up by Devin Cooley. The projected healthy extras for Calgary look like Brayden Pachal, John Beecher, Ryan Lomberg and Adam Klapka. A thing to keep an eye out for: Yan Kuznetsov went to the room late in Saturday’s game, so we’ll see if he plays or if he’s swapped out for Pachal instead. We’ll see what happens at warm-up!
The Flames lost 4-1 to the Seattle Kraken on the road on Saturday. They were okay, but they made some poor puck management decisions and generally weren’t great defensively. We’ll see if the Flames can tidy up their details as they begin their final homestand.

The Mammoth

Projected lines via Daily Faceoff:
Clayton Keller – Nick Schmaltz – Lawson Crouse
Kailer Yamamoto – Logan Cooley – Dylan Guenther
J.J. Peterka – Alex Kerfoot – Michael Carcone
Brandon Tanev – Kevin Stenlund – Liam O’Brien
Mikhail Sergachev – MacKenzie Weegar
Nate Schmidt – Dmitri Simashev
Ian Cole – Sean Durzi
We’re projecting Vitek Vanecek to start in net, backed up by Karel Vejmelka. Their healthy extra in their last game was Nick DeSimone.
The Mammoth lost 4-1 to the Carolina Hurricanes at home on Saturday. The Hurricanes are a very good hockey team, and a lot of teams lose to them, but the playoff-bound Mammoth will probably be a bit cranky about letting one get away from them.
Remember MacKenzie Weegar? The Flames sure do, and you should expect a video tribute to Utah’s #52 during the first TV timeout.

Unavailable players

The Flames are without Sam Honzek, Jake Bean, Jonathan Huberdeau, Joel Hanley and Kevin Bahl.

Head to head

This is the third and final meeting between these teams this season. So far, they’ve split the games one apiece, with the home team winning each outing.

LeaseBusters is Canada’s premier lease takeover marketplace, helping drivers get out of their current vehicle leases without costly penalties or negative equity. Instead of paying thousands to break a lease, sellers connect with qualified buyers ready to take it over—saving money and avoiding financial stress. Buyers benefit from shorter-term commitments and often better monthly payments, while dealerships retain a replacement customer and leasing companies keep contracts active. It’s a smarter, more efficient solution for everyone involved. Four parties, four wins—only with LeaseBusters.  For more information, check out www.LeaseBusters.com
