The Calgary Flames have made a roster move in advance of their Tuesday night meeting with the Washington Capitals. The club has recalled Oliver Kylington from the American Hockey League’s Stockton Heat and re-assigned Alan Quine to the AHL.
Quine’s recall on Sunday morning was out of necessity given the short-term injuries to Sam Bennett and Andrew Mangiapane – they simply didn’t have enough healthy forwards and Kylington was the only player who was able to go to the AHL to bring up another forward. But with Mangiapane seemingly ready to go against Washington, there was no need for Quine to stick around and so he has been sent back to the minors.
For those keeping track, the Flames used up two days of Quine’s 30-day waiver exempt window during this recall.
