That’ll do it. Calgary’s elimination number is down to 0.0 and they’ve been officially eliminated from playoff contention. Montreal is the fourth and final team in the North Division to clinch a playoff spot. #Flames

Bad news, folks. The Calgary Flames won’t be taking part in the 2021 Stanley Cup playoffs.
The Flames’ tragic number dropped below zero after Montreal forced overtime with Edmonton on Monday night, allowing the Canadiens to clinch the final North Division playoff spot. It’s the first season since 2017-18 that the Flames haven’t made the post-season.
Calgary has four games remaining on the schedule, all with Vancouver – four consecutive games between two non-playoff teams. The Flames’ regular season will conclude on May 19.
