Well, friends, three different leagues with Calgary Flames prospects playing in them have paused games for the rest of 2020. As we wait to see if they’ll be back in 2020, collegiate and European prospects remain active for the most part.

Should be playing, but aren’t

  • Connor Zary and Jakob Pelletier are at Canada’s World Junior camp. They won’t have any on-ice activities until (at least) Dec. 6 due to COVID-19 quarantines.
  • Yan Kuznetsov is at Russia’s World Junior camp.
  • Dustin Wolf is off to USA Hockey’s World Junior camp.
  • AIK (Lucas Feuk) is part of the league-wide shutdown of Sweden’s top junior league that runs through the end of December.
  • The QMJHL has shut down until Jan. 6, so no games for Ryan Francis or Jeremie Poirier for awhile.
  • Finland’s SM-Liiga has shut down until after Christmas, so no games for Juuso Valimaki or Eetu Tuulola for awhile.
  • Michigan State’s planned mid-week set with Wisconsin was postponed due to some positive COVID-19 tests within the Badgers camp.
  • MODO Hockey (Filip Sveningsson) reported multiple positive COVID-19 tests and they’re postponing games for the next little while.
