The Calgary Flames made a pair of roster moves on Tuesday morning. Forward Adam Ruzicka has been recalled from the American Hockey League’s Stockton Heat. To open a roster spot, waiver-exempt defender Connor Mackey has been returned to Stockton.
#Flames Roster Update: Defenceman Connor Mackey has been assigned to the @AHLHeat. Additionally, forward Adam Ruzicka has been recalled from Stockton.

Mackey was originally summoned from the AHL on Sunday to be the team’s seventh defender in their game against Colorado. Oliver Kylington was unavailable due to injury. Mackey’s return to the farm team suggests that Kylington may be available for Wednesday’s game against New Jersey.
Every part of the Mackey/Ruzicka swap screamed “temporary”: Mackey didn’t dress for Calgary in Denver, nor did Ruzicka dress for Stockton in their Monday win over Bakersfield.
With the roster moves, the Flames remain at a 23-man roster: two goaltenders, seven defenders and 14 forwards.
