Flames recall Alan Quine from Stockton

The Calgary Flames have made a roster move, recalling forward Alan Quine from the American Hockey League’s Stockton Heat. Quine takes up Curtis Lazar’s previous spot as the 13th forward.
Quine, 26, was previously with the Flames for nine games (and 20 days) earlier in the season. He amassed three goals and four points playing on the bottom six. However, a few defensive lapses in his last couple games earned him a ticket back to Stockton.
Quine is 14th in the AHL in points, with 52 points (and 19 goals) in 45 games. He’s Stockton’s leading scorer despite missing 14 games, and the only player remotely close to him on a per-game scoring basis is Dillon Dube. Not only that, Quine’s a veteran who’s got playoff experience. If the Flames need an extra forward around down the stretch, Quine is probably the ideal player to have taking on that role.
Since he’s played nine games, Quine will require waivers to go back to the AHL as soon as he is dressed for one more game. (Or if he’s on the NHL roster for 10 days.) It’s probably safe to assume he’s here for the long haul. The Flames now have two recalls left before the end of the regular season.
