Flames recall Anthony Peluso from Stockton, Ryan Lomberg to AHL

The Calgary Flames have made a predicted roster move. The club has recalled forward Anthony Peluso from the American Hockey League’s Stockton Heat and demoted suspended forward Ryan Lomberg to the AHL.
Peluso has been up and down a few times this season. He’s played 3 games for the Flames and 16 for Stockton this season. With Sunday evening’s game against the Edmonton Oilers expected to have some rough stuff, the Flames brass likely felt it made sense to bring him in as an insurance policy.
For what it’s worth, according to our friends at HockeyFights.com, Peluso has had one (AHL) fight this season and just three (AHL) fights since 2016-17. He’s a big, tough dude, but I’m not sure if a guy that fights so infrequently will accomplish what they hope he will.
With one game left on his suspension Lomberg heads to the AHL. The Flames are allowed to send Lomberg down and he’s able to play down there immediately, but he’s not able to play any NHL games before he serves the final game left on his suspension (in the NHL).
