Flames Recall Nemisz

Mar 22, 2011, 17:46 EDT

The Calgary Flames have recalled Greg Nemisz from the American Hockey League’s Abbotsford Heat this afternoon. It comes after a heavy night in Los Angeles on Monday, where the team lost Niklas Hagman in the first period and also saw a third period injury to Rene Bourque, who did return and finish the game.
It’s also another recall for the team, but if it’s on an emergency basis (which isn’t clear), it wont’ count against the remaining recalls this season. The move may very well point to the injury situation of either Hagman or Bourque, the recovery of Daymond Langkow, or it may be just a depth move.
Nemisz is second in team scoring on Abbotsford with 14 goals and 32 points. He was Calgary’s first round pick in the 2008 NHL Entry Draft.
