The Calgary Flames have their roster down to 25 players in advance of Friday’s final pre-season game and Monday’s roster deadline. The club reduced their camp roster by three on Thursday, assigning Dustin Wolf to the American Hockey League’s Calgary Wranglers and releasing Cody Eakin and Sonny Milano from their professional try-outs.
Wolf was always going to be going back to the Wranglers, especially with how dang good Dan Vladar has been in training camp.
Milano and Eakin both had fairly disappointing training camps, failing to really catch on as an offensive depth winger and complimentary forward, respectively.
The 25 players remaining on the camp active roster are:
- Goaltenders [2] Jacob Markstrom and Dan Vladar
- Defencemen [9] Noah Hanifin, Rasmus Andersson, MacKenzie Weegar, Chris Tanev, Nikita Zadorov, Connor Mackey, Juuso Valimaki, Nicolas Meloche and Michael Stone
- Forwards [14] Jonathan Huberdeau, Elias Lindholm, Tyler Toffoli, Andrew Mangiapane, Nazem Kadri, Dillon Dube, Kevin Rooney, Mikael Backlund, Blake Coleman, Milan Lucic, Adam Ruzicka, Trevor Lewis, Radim Zohorna and Brett Ritchie
Oliver Kylington is away from the team due to a personal matter, while Dennis Gilbert, Martin Pospisil and Emilio Pettersen are injured.
