Calgary Flames general manager Brad Treliving is a hustler. He wants to know what’s going on, which players are available, and what prices look like. In advance of the looming Monday trade deadline, Calgary’s head honcho has seemingly made inquiries about just about everybody you can think of.
Here’s a round-up from our media pals:

Ondrej Kase (and Tyler Toffoli and Brenden Dillon)

According to Pierre LeBrun (of The Athletic and TSN) linked the Flames to Ondrej Kase, who was traded by Anaheim to Boston on Friday.
That the Flames inquired makes sense, too. Calgary has been after a top-six, right-shot option. Give Flames GM Brad Treliving credit. He’s trying. He also tried on right winger Tyler Toffoli and blueliner Brenden Dillon, among others so far over the past week. Calgary can use a boost both up front and on the blue line and Treliving is taking his swings.
In his rundown of what some Canadian teams are doing, TSN’s Frank Seravalli expects the Flames to be busy.
The truth is that, at the moment, the Flames are all over the place. Treliving is making calls on forwards and defencemen. They could go in either direction – or fill both needs – by Monday. One thing is certain: the Flames don’t have the option to fall short of the playoffs. This team is built to win now, particularly with this defence corps and their ages and contract situations, and the heat is on. No pun intended.

Zack Bogosian

Buffalo’s Zack Bogisian cleared waivers, refused to report to the AHL’s Rochester Americans, and has cleared unconditional waivers for the purposes of terminating his contract. Now, he’s a free agent.
The Flames didn’t claim him when he was on waivers – twice – but are reportedly sniffing around now that his price tag is comparably lowered.
