The Calgary Flames made a pair of roster moves this morning to shuffle up the forward ranks a tiny bit.

David Wolf has been re-assigned back to the American Hockey League’s Adirondack Flames, while Markus Granlund has been recalled from the AHL affiliate.

Wolf, a German import, was first recalled by the Flames from the Adirondack Flames back on January 26, just after the NHL All-Star Break. He played his first game on January 31 at home against the Edmonton Oilers, playing 7:27 before getting a cut on his thigh and getting sidelined for the remainder of the game. He was subsequently put on the IR for three games, before being activated and returning for the February 9 game in San Jose. He’s subsequently sat for the past four games.

In short – Wolf played twice – for about 15 minutes total – and he was in the NHL for just shy of three weeks including his injury time. This reassignment appears to be a lot about getting him into some games.

Granlund has already played 33 games this season with the Flames and has 13 points. He has 12 points in 14 games in the AHL, as well. This is his fourth recall this season.

The Flames return to action tomorrow night against the Anaheim Ducks.
