The Calgary Flames have made a pretty big signing, locking up one of their top prospects. The club has signed college star Emilio Pettersen to a three year entry level deal.

Pettersen, 20, was the Flames sixth round pick in the 2018 NHL Draft. He impressed in the USHL during his draft year, impressed as a freshman with the University of Denver, and then continued to impress as a sophomore.
The Norwegian product has consistently improved since coming over to North America in his early teens, emerging as Denver’s top offensive threat and one of the top players in his age group in all of college hockey.
The deal means that Pettersen cannot return to college and will be playing pro hockey next season. He’s not a huge body, so it seems likely he’ll spend time in Stockton next season. 2018 seventh round pick Dmitry Zavgorodniy will join him in going pro next season.
