Flames Sign Rasmus Andersson To Entry-Level Deal

Hockey is a results-oriented business. After a pair of strong outings for the Calgary Flames at the 2015 Young Stars Classic, defender Rasmus Andersson has been rewarded with an entry-level contract.
Per the CBA, it’s a three-year deal for the 18-year-old product of Malmo, Sweden.
Originally drafted with the only pick in the first three rounds that the Flames didn’t trade up, down or away – their second round pick (53rd overall) – Andersson is a right-handed defender. He’s got pro experience. He’s been very good with the Barrie Colts of the Ontario Hockey League in his one season since coming over from Sweden.
And now, he’s inked to a brand-new contract. If he can keep building upon last season’s successes, he could be something pretty special. He’s the second member of the 2015 Draft class to sign, after fellow second round pick Oliver Kylington was inked in July. Since Andersson’s just 18, he’s headed back to the OHL and his deal will slide for this season.
